The thing that he isn’t understanding though is that a 31% increase doesn’t mean things just go up 31%. That means every single step of production, shipping, storage etc is all 31% compounded over and over. Larger operations are hit harder because of how much logistics go into their daily operations.

Inflationary increases are multiplicative at each point in the supply chain, not to mention with taxes.

Ummm they also doubled minimum wage in most states. Maybe he should factor that in next time? I'm sure there is a chart with fancy graphics to help him understand

The 31% inflation number is misleading. Thats the government calculation and excludes most costs, like energy or insurance etc. Do this same thing with college tuition, real estate, healthcare (anything but electronics) and its even worse than fast food.
