I felt this so deeply

i would love to have her as a friend but i would never talk to her but I know she understands!! LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Isolating is a form of coping and surviving.

I see people brag about not responding to calls and texts and ignoring family members and swear they’re cool for it. Being antisocial is a real mental health issue not something to brag about and people who really deal with it, hate it.

I would check, Myer and Briggs 16 personality, you might be a INFJ , I am my self .

It wasn’t until the more recent years that consistent communication became the norm so this is really just your nervous system having a normal reaction to over stimulation. I assure you it is just that damn phone

Nothing is wrong with you. The issue is smart phones and how accessible we’re all meant to be. 20+ years ago people only had access to you while they were with you or you were at home to hear the house phone ring.

I have 8 messages since October that I have to respond to

No lie she cooking and it be shame and a feeling of unworthyness to a paranoid level cause even folks meant to genuinely love you seem suspicious

hot take: i grew up during the time of buying ‘minutes’ for your phone or cell service that ‘cut off’ at a certain time every night. yes we had desktops for Myspace/YT/online games like Farmville etc but that required you to go to a designated area in your home for a limited time after work or school. we had physical DVDs, recreational facilities, cable, shared landlines. ppl don’t take into account that we are the first humans in history to universally go from living life in person to living it through technology. screen times went up, and it gradually became integrated into everyday life. A hundred years from now, the idea of life without technology & instant communication will feel like fiction. But presently, for some, the excitement of advancements have waned and quite a few ppl are realizing that it has never been normal to be so connected to everyone you know, and strangers you don’t know, at any given time. ‘Adulting’ in general is taxing, add constant communication to the mix & it can get overwhelming. so while i love the hundreds of my friends and family, sometimes ill have to get to it when i get to it lol

I felt this too. I’ve tried explaining it to everyone, in various ways. I just wish contact was limited back to the occasional phone call on your home phone, mail, and in person visits.

That’s depression

Oooweee!!!! Felt this in my soul

It’s most likely adhd. I have the same problem. I’m an extrovert but I cannot just cannot deal with things that aren’t here and now in my life because even here and now takes a lot. This doesn’t apply to people I love like my family and maybe just 2-3 more people. That’s it.

About every seven years, I come out of my cocoon. I am the most outgoing person you’ve ever met. That lasts almost a year. The next 6yrs I’m at home recovering.

I see 100% of the replies agreeing that they have this issue, but I don’t think it’s that common. Not just “I don’t reply sometimes”, but “woah, I’ve lost contact with most of my loved ones because I don’t keep in contact. And even though I know it’s a problem, I still don’t.”

Before cell phones nobody had constant direct access to us. It’s kinda normal to want to be alone

ADHD LOLZ 😂, we’re cooked innit

I understand you

It’s always better to have a “peace of mind” than losing (giving) a piece of your mind.

Why are we doing this to ourselves - i really hate it 😭

Wish people would understand this. When I ask to be left alone or isolate it’s because I know my emotions and nervous system is out of whack. I’ll come back when I’m better.

I also have whatever you have.

Go get help fuck all that. Ain’t gone have me reaching out and no replies.

Sometimes you just don’t want to be bothered 🤷🏽♀️

Finally someone who can articulate exactly what my relations with my phone and Communication 😭

It’s because you scroll on social media to much and it depletes all your dopamine. It makes you feel stuck. Get iff the internet. It’s hard but find a book that’s very engaging and hard to put down. It will help you get off the internet. Also then take small walks when you can

I have the answer but nobody is gonna like it: she’s an inconsiderate self absorbed narcissist who also has a low IQ. Explained: she expects/invites the comms yet doesn’t satisfy the social expectation of answering/replying for them to continue. Too dumb to understand it too

This is spot on for those of us living with chronic illnesses. Other people just don’t get it. Too much of anything overwhelms me, even food. There are times I’d rather not eat at all because of the size or number of dishes. I want texts rather than calls. Live people are hard.

It’s definitely personal when you’re not replying to people & it’s for sure intentional. Nothing is wrong besides being dramatic & not wanting to deal with people, that’s regular shit

“How come you never answer the phone?” “Because somebody might be on the other end.”
