WE WON. BUT DID WE? The Supreme Court ruled that states can keep women’s and girls’ sports for biological females. Title IX and the Constitution do not require biological males in the female category. Fairness and safety for female athletes are protected. This is a massive win for every girl who trains hard, competes hard, and deserves a level playing field. But the fight isn’t over. 23 states still do not have a statewide law protecting women’s sports based on biological sex. In many of those states, biological males are still allowed to compete in the female category under current policies or association rules. The Court gave every state the clear legal authority to act. Now it’s on the remaining legislatures and governors to finish the job and protect girls’ sports everywhere. Title IX was never meant to erase sex. Women’s sports exist for a reason. Keep going until every state gets it right. Is your state one of the 23 still allowing it? If so, tag your governor. #SaveWomensSports #WeWon

In my hearing today, I demanded that Damien Lehfeldt, the Chairman of USA Fencing, leave his post. He has continually put young women in danger by allowing biological males to compete in the women’s division within USA Fencing. Democrats are on the losing side of this issue. They claim to champion women, but by promoting these mentally ill individuals, they are robbing women of opportunities within their own sports.

The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) released a letter the morning of the Southern Section championship final. The letter stated, "Additionally, any cisgender female student-athlete who would have earned a specific placement on the podium will also be awarded the medal for that place, and the results will be reflected in the recording of the event." The mother of AB Hernandez, a biological male trans athlete who dominated long jump, high jump, and triple jump at the CIF finals, publicly shared a post by Rainbow Families Action, slamming the ruling. The group wrote, ”All these big, tough ex-athletes at CIF, and the most courage they could muster was to hand this to coaches at AB’s meet today… Not one of them was brave enough to look her or her mother in the eye and say: “This whole project of violating Ed Code is aimed at you. A child.” Biological females were able to share the podium with Hernandez, but one competitor skipped out on sharing the podium with the biological male.

They deserve to feel safe in spaces created for them and should not have to justify those concerns with statistics or explanations about biological differences between males and females. Today in House Committee on Education & Workforce, I questioned superintendents from Democrat-led states about the harmful effects of gender ideology, attacks on parental rights, and the misuse of legal systems in our schools. Women fought hard to secure dedicated spaces, and those safeguards are being eroded by radical gender ideology, which is NOT protected under the Constitution. House Republicans will continue working to protect women’s spaces, defend parental rights, and ensure parents have a voice in their children’s safety and education.
