MacFarlane: Changing it to the title of a Peter Gabriel song is only going to win over so many people in Washington, DC. But I think there's a more fundamental dynamic we need to talk about. On its best day, some congressional hearings can have the maturity and tone of like a middle school on a Friday when there's a substitute teacher, not even a good substitute teacher. There were elements of that when Pete Hegseth testifies and when Kash Patel testified, and I don't think they're winning over people with this testimony, I don't think Pete Hegseth won new allies for the war.

This is the kind of teacher I worry about my disabled students having, because why does it make her so angry that a student needed more abstract language explained? Especially given cultural agreement on when the year begins or when your first birthday happens is not universal.

It’s about more than just an ID; it’s about a commitment to the "tiny humans" who depend on us to keep their environment a sanctuary for learning and growth. ​I don't care what your "audit" says or what your YouTube channel needs for views. If you can’t show identification at the door of an elementary school, you don’t belong inside. Period. ​We teach our kids to follow rules, to respect authority, and to be mindful of strangers. Why should it be any different for adults? Our schools aren't public parks or town halls; they are places where our future generations should feel 100% protected. ​Kudos to this officer for prioritizing those kids over a camera lens.
