They are likely being used, but for a different purpose than most people assume. Tesla needs to collect a large amount of data to fine-tune the FSD driving model for a new vehicle type/form factor. They have also mentioned in the past that they want to test city specific scenarios to ensure there aren’t any weird intersections or special adjustments for a given geography.

You’re welcome. Worth remembering that Cybertruck shipped without FSD entirely. It took months before it got FSD, and months more before it performed anywhere close to the other vehicles. Even the Model Y L had rough early FSD reports when it launched. Every new form factor seems to need a few cycles of iteration before it’s dialed in.

Damn, I thought they were a lot more efficient with the few platforms they have, but maybe the non-commonality of parts and form structures gives them extra flexibility in the future. On my "things to find out" list.

@scotsrule08 There's too little data available for 3rd party sales. Even Musk admitted on a recent call that there had been interested parties, but no one ordered FSD. It would be a tough process, not only with hardware, but also with the connectivity.
