I fully support the government on this. We cannot continue living in a disorganized, slum-like environment. We need order and proper planning. Instead of allowing temporary structures on every road reserve, we should prioritize the construction of proper footpaths and cycling lanes.

This is the Lekki Epe expressway,the same corridor, only with upgraded roads, proper greenery on the medians, and modern road infrastructure by AI. Most of our city designs are outdated. Just bare road medians, little or no proper greenery, zero sidewalks, and zero cycle lanes. This is 2026; we need to move away from these old colonial-style designs and rebrand to modern urban standards. We already have all the structures and built-up environment. What we now need are modern roads, intentional landscaping, and proper urban design. This is exactly the kind of work Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency - LASPARK should be outsourcing to capable private landscaping companies. Other agencies in Lagos are Top-notch, but LASPARK needs to sit up, while the Ministry of Environment/LAWMA must also step up on issues like street trading, street urchins, and keeping the environment crystal clean. These are the things that shape perception about a place. Before tourists notice the big projects, their eyes first catch the small things. Obafemi Hamzat/Babajide Sanwo-Olu must not overlook these key sectors so they do not undermine the administration’s bigger achievements.
