The look on Bill Maher’s face was priceless. He literally couldn’t tell if Jessica Tarlov was joking or not. Maher did a double take after Tarlov claimed, with a straight face, that Democrats are “less crazy.” He initially laughed because he thought she was being sarcastic. Then he realized she was actually serious... MAHER: “But I think these recent elections about the Democrats are crazy on social issues, people don’t like that, Trump’s crazy but economy is better. But he doesn’t have the economy anymore.” “I mean...” TARLOV: “And we’re less crazy.” [Silence] MAHER: “Who’s less crazy?” TARLOV: “Democrats!” MAHER: “WHAT??!” TARLOV: “You haven’t noticed?” MAHER: “Have you seen the Democratic…” Maher stopped mid-sentence and began laughing, thinking that Tarlov was cracking a joke. [Audience cracks up] MAHER: “You’re being sarcastic? Oh, I see.” TARLOV: “No…” MAHER: “NO?!” “You think we’re less crazy?” TARLOV: “Maybe not inside, but at least when we go out and give a speech talking about the economy and corruption…” That’s when Maher hit her with a cold dose of reality. MAHER: “They’re communists who think the Islamists are the good guys…” “Are you kidding?! Less crazy?!” TARLOV: “The candidates?” MAHER: “Some of the candidates. You’re not following the Democratic Socialists of America?” Maher had her dead to rights, and she knew it.

Laura Wasser says I'm shocked that anyone looks at that. First of all, this is a successful marriage in an industry where there is no such thing. I have done a lot of actor divorces, and believe me, they suck at being married. And so, this is a successful, happy marriage that produced children, that has... it is a long marriage. Now, I will tell you, like, I don't know these two people, that is still a very beautiful woman. Okay, she's gained weight. Chris Williamson: Pierce Brosnan's gained gray! Laura Wasser: Right, okay, but this is a stunningly beautiful woman. And this is a woman who is aging appropriately, right? So she's not trying to do 50 million things... Chris Williamson: Aging better than appropriately, but yeah. Laura Wasser: 100%. But I'm saying she's not trying to undo the inevitable. And the truth is, if you're with a partner long-term, you don't always see those changes as much. Just like you don't notice in yourself that you've gained or lost weight until stuff feels tight. Chris Williamson: How old do you think your mum sees you when she looks at you? You're still 12. Laura Wasser: Right! And so, isn't that a beautiful expression of love? Like I always tell people when they talk about this sort of like, "Oh well you're going to age, and when someone ages...", okay. I have a dog that is 16 years old. I got that dog when the dog was 4 months old. What do you think the dog is now deaf, gets up every morning tail wagging, can't wait to eat breakfast, got a great quality of life. When he no longer has a great quality of life, I will do the thing you need to do, which is the brave and difficult choice. But he wakes up every day tail wagging, has to get carried up and down the stairs. But once he's there, can't wait to eat his meal, can't wait to do his thing. So he's a happy dog. Do you think I look at that dog deaf, has to be carried up and down the stairs and go, "Dude, I got to get a puppy. Look at this fucking dog. Look at this old ass dog, can't even hear anything." Puppies can chase balls! This kid dog used to chase balls, he was so fun, he used to run like the wind, I got videos of it on my phone. Now look at him, he's like a broken little thing. The opposite. The opposite! I love that dog more and more. I know I'm in the bonus rounds, I know I don't have all that much time, and I have to tell you, I fucking love that dog. How do you know that those people don't look at each other and just go, "Look at us. Look at that photo of us when we were fucking kids, and we didn't know what it was going to be, and we were so scared."

I’ve talked about this on tiktok so I’m gonna talk about it here as well. My mom sexually assaulted me when I was a child. I’ve called her out on this for a long time & been labeled a liar. I decided to go get a lie detector test & I managed to pass. My mother took a lie detector test & failed… She had an excuse as to why she failed too, listen below & tell me if it makes sense. I was around 9-11, all I remember is her doing this to me & how it went down. My mother was extremely homophobic & any time I did something she deemed feminine, she would try to punish me for it. This one specific time I was using the family computer with the daughter of a woman who was living with my mom at the time. I decided to play Fancy by iggy azalea & I was singing along, my mom calls out to ask “who’s playing that” so I come to her as she called out & when she asked I lied to her…I was scared so I told her the little girl was playing the song. She called the little girl in the room and asked her instead of me. The little girl proceeded to tell my mother how it wasn’t her who was playing the song & it was me. My mother thrusts at me & starts beating me mercilessly. Screaming “you wanna be a bitch?!” “This what you want?!” & as she’s beating me she shoved her finger inside me saying “you like d*ck in yo a** b*tch?!” Her boyfriend at the time had to pull her off of me & tell her to stop. I even remember her going to wash the fecal matter off of her finger. I may not get the legal justice I deserve but I will continue to tell my story to be an advocate for people who faced something similar with really no safe space to speak on it. I allowed her to condition me to think for years that I had to forgive her, we had to work on our relationship because “we were all we had” but I was being lied to by the narcissist I call a mother. There was no work that would ever be done, just me tolerating stuff I don’t have to while keeping secrets that aren’t mine. Help me get my story out there, I have 3 younger siblings & she’s been exploiting them & I for monetary gain on the internet since I was a child. Every time I did something she didn’t like she would broadcast it to her followers on Facebook. Now I’ve built my own platform, now my voice can truly be heard.

Vayne takes you on a hunt. you don't know why. she doesn't take anyone. she says stay behind me. don't speak unless i speak first. don't make a sound when we move. you say yes. she looks at you for a second longer than usual. "if i tell you to run, you run. you don't look back for me. are we clear" you say yes. she doesn't answer. she just turns and walks out the door. you follow her through the city streets. she moves different when she's working. shoulders lower. steps shorter. her head doesn't turn but her eyes do. you can feel her cataloguing everything. the man smoking outside the tavern. the cat under the cart. the second floor window with the curtain half drawn. she leads you through an alley you didn't know existed. stops at a brick wall. then she climbs. there are handholds carved into the mortar that you wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't used them first. she's halfway up before she realizes you're still at the bottom. she looks down at you. "up" you climb. your hands are shaking by the time you reach the top. the roof is flat. old clay tiles along the edges. a low wall you can crouch behind. the city stretches out below you in every direction. a thousand windows glowing gold in the dusk. she's already at the far side. crouched. crossbow unslung. watching a building across the square. she doesn't look at you when you come up beside her. "stay low" you crouch. "that building. third floor. second window from the left" you look. "i see it" he'll come to that window sometime tonight. i've watched him do it for three nights. i want to know who he meets you ask who he is. her jaw tightens. "a demon pretending to be a man" you don't ask what that means. you settle in beside her. the wind is up here. it pulls at her hair and she doesn't bother fixing it. the sun is going down behind her. her profile in the gold light looks like something carved. her hands on the crossbow are steady. completely still. you've never seen anyone be this still. an hour passes. she doesn't move. you try not to move. your leg falls asleep. you shift an inch. she looks at you. you go completely still again. she looks back at the window. another hour. the sun is gone. the city is blue and black. lamps are lighting up one by one. the air is getting cold. you're shivering before you realize you're shivering. she notices. she doesn't say anything. then she takes off her cloak. doesn't look at you. holds it out to the side. "take it" you say "you'll be cold" "i don't get cold. take it" you take it. it's warm from her. it smells like leather and steel and something underneath. pine. smoke. something you can't name. you put it around your shoulders. the hem pools on the tile. it's huge on you. it's not huge on her. you hadn't realized how tall she is until you were wearing her cloak. she doesn't look at you for the next ten minutes. the stars come out. she shifts closer to you. just a little. so her shoulder is almost touching yours. you don't say anything about it. she doesn't either. you can feel the heat coming off her even through the cloak. another hour. still nothing at the window. she says "tell me something" you blink. "what" "anything. i need to stay sharp. talking keeps me sharp. not about the target. something else" you didn't expect that. you tell her about a book you've been reading. she listens. actually listens. her eyes never leave the window but you can tell she's hearing every word. she asks one question. you answer. she goes quiet again. you keep talking. quieter now. she interrupts you. "shh" she's not looking at the window anymore. she's looking at the roof two buildings over. you don't see anything. you don't see anything for a long time. then you do. a shadow that moves the wrong way. her hand finds yours. she doesn't look at you when she does it. her eyes don't leave the shadow. her fingers lace through yours and LOCK. tight. too tight. knuckles going white around your hand. "don't move" she breathes. you don't move. you can feel every ounce of her focus through her grip. it's not a lover's hold. it's a predator's. every muscle in her hand coiled. ready to drop yours the instant she needs the crossbow. she's not holding you for you. she's holding you to keep track of where you are without having to look. it should scare you. it doesn't. there is something about being held that tight by someone that dangerous that makes the rest of the world go quiet. your heartbeat slows. your breathing slows. the cold stops mattering. you are not the one hunting but you are with the one who is. and nothing is going to get through her to reach you. the shadow crosses the roof and disappears into a stairwell. she watches the spot it left for another full minute. her hand is still locked around yours. she doesn't loosen it. you don't want her to. finally she lets out a breath you didn't know she was holding. "not him. but someone who works for him" her grip eases. slowly. finger by finger. like she's having to consciously tell each one to let go. the last one is her thumb. it stays against your palm for half a second longer than the rest. then she takes her hand back. the cold rushes in where she was. she glances at you. just for a second. then she looks back at the window. the rest of the night she's quieter than before. the target never shows. when the sky starts turning grey she stands up. stretches. rolls her shoulders. looks out over the city one last time. "we're done" you stand too. your legs don't work right. she catches your elbow without looking. "careful" she keeps her hand there until you're steady. then she takes it away. you start to hand her cloak back. she says "keep it for the climb down" she goes first. you follow. the handholds are easier going down once you know where they are. when you're both on the ground she turns to take the cloak. you hand it to her. her fingers brush yours. she doesn't pull back as fast as she usually does. she puts the cloak back on. it's warm now. from you. she has to notice. she doesn't say anything about it. she walks you home. at your door she stops. "don't tell anyone what you saw tonight" you say "i didn't see much" she looks at you. her eyes in the lamplight. the edge of her mouth. almost softer than it should be. "you saw enough" then she turns and walks back into the dark. you close the door. your hand still feels cold where hers was. you can still smell pine on your shirt. you don't sleep. At first, I didn’t understand the character because she’s very dynamic and has so many different sides. You can play her in a way that makes people see her as a bad person, but you can also explain her to the audience and make them sympathize with her. So I kept going back and forth. I thought, “I probably won’t be able to do this.” Then I said, “No, it’s impossible.” After that, Ms. Gül told me, “Read it again and come back.” So I worked on the character a little more, started enjoying it, and thought, “This could be something crazy too.” I felt an inner challenge like motivation. Then I kept working on her and trying to understand the character. Eventually, I said, “Okay, she’s a perfect fit for me. This is crazy.” What I loved most was that she’s crazy, because whenever I choose a role, I always look for something different. I like choosing different colors, so to speak. I’m also a very energetic person, and this role matches my energy perfectly. It keeps everything fresh, and you never get bored. In fact, with this character, I never feel bored at all. On the contrary, I enjoy acting as her so much. And I think you can see that too (Mert and İlhan). So, when they describe Yıldız, honestly, I never saw the story as simply “the first woman” or “the second woman.” Here, these are genuinely people fighting for a seat. Host: It’s like a Game of Thrones. Damla: Yes, it really is a Game of Thrones. Every single character here even (Mert and İlhan’s) characters has a life they want to achieve, and they’re all fighting for it. What made me love this girl was the way she fought. And when I say “the way she fought,” I mean that she never gave up. Her ambition. And at the same time, she never lost her joy. There’s a saying in Urfa that people always use: “Lose everything, but never lose your joy.” I saw that in her, and it gave me such a warm feeling. That’s why, out of all the characters I’ve played, she’s probably the one I’ve enjoyed portraying the most. And I think that feeling reached the audience too, and they embraced me because of it. #BiranDamlaYılmaz Biran Damla Yılmaz felixmanagement Fatih Altayli 🔴🇹🇷

Orm Kornnaphat spent her early years hesitating about how to begin a story with Lingling Kwong: "I was scared because she was a quiet person. She looked reserved and hard to approach. If I did this or that, I didn't know whether she would be annoyed." Orm Kornnaphat spent 5 years without a single project together with her, without interactions, without being close, without seeing each other for entire years, without even the slightest point of connection. And then, look at what she did for Lingling Kwong: - Every year on her birthday, there would always be a birthday wish "Happy birthday P'Ling". Simple, nothing more and nothing less. - Every anniversary of channel 3, she would invite her to eat together. - She would go all the way to her younger brother's restaurant, even though food wasn't really her favorite and the trip was far, just simply because she wanted to "support a colleague"? A colleague who wouldn't even hear about that thoughtfulness directly until years later? - She would pray and make promises of offerings, just for the chance to act alongside that colleague. Do you really put that much heart into a colleague? She had no idea how TSOU would turn out. It could have been just another project, merely an experimental series for CH3. Nothing was tailor made to guarantee success. Nobody expected it to become what it is today. For a project like that, the thing she wished for was simply the opportunity to act with Lingling Kwong. Orm Kornnaphat spent 2 months filming with her and several more months where seeing her one extra day felt special. And look at how much she treasured this relationship: - On the last day of filming, she was the one who said "I don't know when I'll get to see P'Ling again." - She prayed for 1 project together and asked for nothing more. That alone made her happy. - Even during promotional activities before the series aired, when the person she had wished to work with said "Orm is still young, she will have many chances to meet more people in her life." Orm Kornnaphat didn't automatically accept that as truth "Don't go anywhere too soon, okay?" - Even when TSOU was becoming popular and the series was at the height of its success, she never took it for granted that Lingling would always be there. Her wish remained simple:"Please don't disappear too soon." Orm Kornnaphat didn't get to this point in a day or two. It took her more than 5 years to go from "I don't know if she'll be annoyed" to "that person is going to scold me again." Every day, she observed and remembered what Lingling liked and disliked. She always wanted Lingling to feel as comfortable as possible. It's okay if Lingling dances a little awkwardly. It's okay if she makes mistakes. It's okay if she's having a bad day. Orm Kornnaphat will still be there. She will still say:"Lingling Kwong did great today", "Lingling Kwong kèng-mákkkk" She's not disrespectful enough to keep using a nickname if she knew Lingling disliked it. The reason she can joke like that is because Lingling allows her to. Lingling gave her that safe space to play around and tease her. So could people with no place in this relationship stop having opinions about it? It honestly looks ridiculous. She has countless ways to address her, P'Ling Lingling Kwong Ling Kwong 00K chubby P'Sao, and thousands of other nicknames. Who exactly are outsiders to police that? #LingOrm1stFMinHK 17.08.24 Lingling Kwong once said that she likes it when Orm calls her by name. Even the joke she made was: "She's clearly calling me. Why are all of you shouting?" So today, let me ask again: If she's clearly calling the person she loves, then why are all of you shouting? Take a look at yourselves for a moment. Doesn't this all seem a little ridiculous? #หลิงออม #LingOrm

I need to talk about it, a little explicit analysis ahead ⚠️ I don’t think I’ll ever get over the way Anil pulls Khun Pin against her while she’s between her legs, Pin holding her neck to kiss it, dragging her lips and teeth across her skin and finishing with a gentle suck. What does it for me is that Khun Pin’s eyes never leave her lovers face, as she wanted to engrave every single gesture that Anil makes. Oh but the way Anil makes sure Khun Pin is watching her like “look how you make me feel” in every breath, every thrust, every moan. They imitate their head movements while smiling and licking their lips. The amount of strength seen on Anil’s tied hands but never once she tried to get loose, she’s enjoying being “punished”. It’s insane for me how “drunk in lust” is shown in Anil’s gaze when she turns her face away from Khun Pin. It’s the only time she looks away and it mostly has to do with the feeling of not being able to contain herself. Once again, she has Khun Pin’s gaze stuck to her. It drives me crazy how close they are to each other, how hard Pin is breathing and that she’s having trouble swallowing when she sees Anil’s “this is what I wanted” smirk. The grip she has on Anil to hold her in place and is not until Anil is pushed to the very edge of pleasure that she lets her go and goes back to be Anil’s little baby. There is something very different about watching Whitney Houston in 1985.🔥🔥 She had not yet become the Whitney Houston that the whole world knew. No massive tours, no stadiums, no legendary ballads, no enormous expectations attached to her name. She was only 22, standing in a television studio in Germany with a microphone in her hand, wearing a leather jacket, a hoodie, and a white headband. And then she started singing. What I find most interesting about this performance of How Will I Know is how little she seems to struggle. The song itself is light, youthful, and almost playful. The rhythm is bright, the melody moves quickly, and the lyrics capture that familiar uncertainty of having a crush on someone: Does he like me? Does he feel the same way? It could easily sound nervous or overly sweet in the wrong hands. Whitney doesn't sing it that way. Her voice has an unusual combination of clarity and strength. She doesn't need to push the notes to make them sound powerful. The higher phrases come out cleanly, the pitch stays remarkably stable, and she moves between her chest voice and upper register without making the transitions feel like technical demonstrations. That is what makes her early performances so fascinating. You can hear the training, but you don't constantly hear the effort behind the training. And there is another detail I like even more: she doesn't behave like someone who knows she is about to become famous. She smiles at the audience. She moves with the beat. She turns toward people standing near the stage. She gives a little gesture here, a playful expression there. Nothing feels excessively rehearsed. She isn't trying to manufacture a “legendary moment.” She is simply having fun. That matters. Because when we look back at famous artists, we often see them through the weight of everything that happened afterward. We know the success that is coming. We know the enormous career, the awards, the expectations, the personal struggles, and the tragedy that would eventually become part of the public story. But Whitney in this clip doesn't know any of that yet. She is just a young woman singing a pop song. And perhaps that is why the footage feels so refreshing. There is no need to turn her into a symbol of tragedy or perfection. Before all the headlines and expectations, there was simply a remarkable young performer who clearly understood her instrument. Listen closely to the way she phrases the melody. She doesn't treat every line with the same weight. She knows when to stay light, when to lean into a note, when to release a phrase, and when to let the rhythm carry her forward. Even in a song designed for radio, there is musical judgment happening underneath the apparent effortlessness. That is the part people sometimes miss when they talk about Whitney only as a “great voice.” A great voice alone is not enough. You need control. You need timing. You need phrasing. You need the ability to make difficult things sound ordinary. Whitney had that ability very early. And watching her here, I don't think the most interesting question is whether she already knew she was going to become a superstar. She probably didn't. The more interesting thing is that, for a few minutes, she didn't need to be one. She could simply sing. The world would eventually place an enormous amount of expectation on that voice. But here, in this old television studio, before all of that arrived, we get to see something much simpler: a young Whitney Houston enjoying a song, trusting her technique, connecting with an audience, and sounding completely at home in front of a microphone. Sometimes the most valuable footage from a great artist isn't the biggest performance. It's the early one. The one where you can still see the person before the legend takes over.

I think CihAl's consummation (or whatever else you'd like to call it) scene is probably one of the most well-thought-out ones of the series. It's perfect for Alya and Cihan's characters. And, if you watch the build-up, you can pinpoint where both decide to take their relationship to the next step. Let's start with my baby girl. Alya makes up her mind that she's done minding the distance between Cihan and herself pretty early on after she enters her room. The way she turns and looks back at the door with a half-smile. Then the camera pans in on the liquor, almost as if to say, she's thinking maybe she needs a little fortitude. And in the next room, Cihan is going through the same restlessness, almost like he's chomping at the bit too, but can't bring himself to act on what he's thinking. Next up, Alya downs some liquid courage and fills her glass again, almost as if a plan's forming in her head. And when she walks out of her room, she pauses, staring at Cihan's door. Eventually, she decides against it because, like the queen she is, she wants a neutral setting, not to overwhelm Cihan, but to engage Cihan's caution, and to see if he's ready to leave it behind. A broken vase later, when Cihan finally descends the steps to go to his wife, Alya gives him a very unconvincing performance of drunkenness. She wants to invite him to sit with her and iron a few things out between them. This is where her playacting is important because it gives them both protection. If Cihan isn't ready to move forward, she can retreat with her dignity, and he wouldn't have to feel pressured or remorseful. But, Cihan, being the brainiac he is, understands his wife is up to something. And, of course, he wants her like crazy, too, so he decides to play along while upping the ante a little - which is why he offers to carry her to her room. Her room. Not his. Because no matter what transpires, his priority is her comfort. So, up they go, and when he lays her down on her bed, Alya pulls him to sit next to her, and switches to phase two. Remember when I said she doesn't want to override him? Her sequence of questions is a gentle attempt to determine if she's read him correctly. That his guilt is no longer the determining factor in their relationship, without triggering any resentment. Why are we staying in separate rooms? Aren't we married? Don't you love me? Don't I love you? Aren't you my husband? Am I not your wife? Then why are we sleeping in separate beds? See? It's a logical dismantling of the remaining distance between them. And every time Cihan answers, it gives her more courage to move forward, it gives her more hope. Cihan isn't being led; he's an active participant, and he is choosing to be. Step by step, to move forward with Alya, by staying in the conversation, to meet her halfway. Then comes the cute nose-rubbing session, and you can see Cihan wants to give in. But old habits die hard, so he has to be sure. Did you drink too much he asks, and that's when Alya gives up her game. Because she's sure too. She tells him how she only drank one glass of wine and how she broke that vase on purpose. Because when they're so close to the brink, she lays all her cards on the table, like always. It isn't like her to hide. And when Cihan brings the topic back to her drunkenness again, that's him proceeding with care. Baby steps. This is his life we're talking about... I mean, his wife. So, Alya Hanim takes up the challenge and asks, 'Would I only want to when I'm drunk?' things are clear as day. The proverbial bulb goes on in Ciho's head. His 'I don't know, maybe' is him being coy, like the imp he is. But all that playfulness goes out the window when his wife says, 'Wouldn't you like to find out?' I think Alya may have managed to give Cihan a mini heart attack with those words, because his answer is so faint, it's laughable. From that point on, it's all engines go for both of them. They're sure now, their minds and hearts are on the same page. After that, it's all love, desire, flirtatiousness, playful goading, and everything that's quintessentially CihAl. Brilliantly written and masterfully portrayed. #CihAl #UzakŞehir
