I am not “against” psychiatric drugs, nor am I “anti-psychiatry.” My view is that we’ve allowed the modern mental health industry to lay monolithic claim to the territory of human suffering – what it means, how to define it, and how to address it – and that this has actually worsened our personal and collective problems. My book, Unshrunk, goes into all of this and more:

Family is the #1 sources of PTSD followed closely by western medicine. Nobody ever really talks about the epigenetics of either: both are heavily influenced by the old wineskin of Catcholicism which is a bolted-on version of Judaism.

@deborahlurie They know literaly nothing

And it’s not all a doctor brings to their role either

Good does not pretend to be evil but evil pretends to be good...remember that. This is also why whistleblowing in medicine, and standing up to power and authority "the experts", is so difficult. The Occasional Human Sacrifice by Dr. Carl Elliott @FearLoathingBTX

I like to tell people, become the CEO of your own health, cause Drs don't go to bed thinking what is best for you.

Medical interventionists aka doctors should be unnecessary for the vast majority. The scam of the well visit rests on this undeserved authority she speaks of.

Radical Responsibilty and Informed Consent: No one can know you better than yourself. Develop an understanding of how your brain, subconscious and somatic systems integrate. The resulting "awareness" is our/your best therapist ever.

It’s possible you ran into “predators”, narcissists, etc Dr Karen Mitchell might be worth a follow.. Or she has a new book.

Laura, you are so sight.

You literally said you loved the attention and loved taking psych meds to appease them lol there are ppl who could’ve had the resources you took advantage of but you’re too selfish to realize that

We have high prescribing in some of England's most deprived areas, there is every chance that the people in these areas will travel down the same route as you, held captive to a system that they believe is there to help them. They may never question.

🙏
