I guess @BenShapiro did a monologue last week in which he said tariffs, not foreign policy, are causing affordability problems and driving down President Trump's popularity. So I made a video. If you watch carefully, you _may_ be able to see what caused inflation to spike...

Here's the original @BenShapiro clip:

@benshapiro We need to map out the future of the conservative economic platform for 2028 and going forward, since there is a lot of misinformation out there. Ben Shapiro can bring some laissez faire people. Michael Knowles can have @scientificecon and @oren_cass.

@benshapiro Nice try Oren. Everyone knows that diesel is a marginal and unimportant global commodity and has no bearing on inflation!

@benshapiro The problem with this is that dispute you passing yourself off as an economist, you’re not an economist. You have no functional idea as to what you’re taking about outside of wanting discredited economic polices to be implemented.

@benshapiro Ben is an Israel Firster, don't expect him to blame the Iran War for anything.

@benshapiro Correlation does not equal causation. However, it's both - effects of tariffs starting to set in as inputs at lower prices expended as well as fuel price spikes from the war.

@michaelbd @benshapiro He should’ve waited till mid November to hit Iran

@benshapiro " War Is A Racket" , General Smedley Butler, USMC, 1935.

@benshapiro It wasn't the Iran conflict either! Its the Globalist pig manipulation.

@Vermeullarmine @benshapiro I think we’ve been having affordability issues for a few years now

@benshapiro Too subtle. Please spell it out.

@benshapiro So, core inflation is not trending upward at all. There is a temporary spike in fuel prices driving some short term price increases, but that's not inflation. Surely you understand that?

@benshapiro Starting a protracted war with an oil nation that controls an important shipping route is the rare occasion where the president really can affect the economy, and it should be obvious that Trump alone is to blame for the high price of gas.
