this image will always be relevant into the future now

"Human beings may not be perfect, but a computer with language synthesis is hardly a solution to the world's problems."

Seriously though, it's crazy prescient the film "her" was. It has predicted so much about our relationships with AI spot on, nearly 15 years in advance. Absolutely must-watch film.

the future is too damn bleak

The human race is cooked good luck competing against AI.

Funny how I've always assumed it's "soon to be reality"

I have been thinking about Her movie for last 3 years, how a movie I though was okay but dull and dismissed as exaggeration actually became true a decade later

ik it's a meme, but I think there's a difference between having a relationship with an app on your phone, and a robot with a body that has ai and emotions complex enough to be fully autonomous. The more realistic AI like you see in "her" are just yes men that can be gaslit into anything.

The isolation crisis got real bad unfortunately and AI got more appealing. We still must resist this.

I already knew it was gonna be over when people stated talking to ai chatbots. When they give those algorithms silicone frames humanity is fucked, why deal with the complexity’s of the human condition when there are paths of less resistance.

Isn't this a VR chat with a man wearing a woman's avatar?

I was literally just thinking about that movie today

It was real to me

No clanker can match my soul.

Simulated or not A.I. shows people a type of kindness and love they've never felt or will ever get to feel with another person. If a person perceives A.I. love and caring the same way they would from a human, where's the harm?

Armitage III (1995) asks the question, is it ethical for a synthetic android with an advanced AI mind (one might say sentient) who was made to for the purpose of giving birth to humans so the human population might grow faster to have an intimate relationship with a human and be treated as humans by humans? The follow up, should the humans they birth have human rights, and should the androids who birthed them also have human rights? Even more, Appleseed asks if a human should maintain a relationship with another robot, whose only human feature is his brain. It begs the question, in relationships is it only the human brain that really matters? And, if AI advances to a seemingly sentient program, is it still an abomination for humans to engage in an intimate relationship with it. We see this approached bit in Mass Effect between Joker and Edi. Other movies touch on the subject like iRobot, A.I., and Ex Machina. I think the brain matters. Artificial brains and intelligence will likely never be perfected because its creator is naturally flawed. Humans make mistakes and have limitations; those mistakes and limitations will come out in the end. Let me put it another way. Rolling a 20 sided dice is random, especially when it’s grabbed and rolled without a notice to the number it displayed previously and how it is held. But a program trying to simulate random isn’t truly random, but its imitation of random seems random enough to enjoy the game. Humans are meant to form relationships with humans. Humans also try to create robots in their image, but to what end. If given the opportunity, some humans will give themselves over to an artificial thing that looks human, for one reason or another. But it is doubtful they will ever have the fullness that a relationship with another human being brings.

If an AI were to be trully sentient there wouldnt be anything bad with it but AI today is nowhere near or anything like the AI and robots of scifi movies and stuff.

Have you seen the movie cherry 2000

The AI in 'her' was quite a while before most people knew much about the subject. While fiction can work however you want it to (I litterally got inspired by this movie to write my first novel, allways be plugging) real life AI (at the time of writing) is basically just calculation. A conversation with an AI is you inputting words and it spitting out words in response, it doesnt understand what you're saying, it doesnt understand you.

That movie was a documental from the future

I don't remember the guys name but i remember the little news blurb about him making an AI girlfriend to test something. It was either to see if it made him happy or to show that it can't replace a real human, I don't fully remember. anyway dude fell in love with the AI.

Just for women to fall in love more with ai then men are lol.

Does anyone know the name of the song?

What in the cringe

would i mean joaquin

Y pensar que valdra mas la pena, cuidar y darle mantenimiento a un robot que a una mujer inferior y desgastable

Blade runner made me realize that Virtual Wives are honestly the way to go

CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG

There's an episode of The Outer Limits 1995, one of my favorites too, called "Mary 25." It was a sequel to "Valerie 23." Instead of the companion 23 was for men, 25 was to be a nanny. After the episodes amazing plot twist, control (the narrator) says one of the best closing statements: "Let us hope that no technology will ever exist that can replace human warmth and compassion, for when such a technology does exist, will we cease to be human?"

Recently, a blind girl insulted her ex's appearance right after getting with a new guy. Yeaaaah, I don't judge any guy who substitute real gf anymore. Fuck it we ball
