You’re complaining the PVP is to hard then you also follow up with not wanted to spend stardust or anything on the battle league pokemon, how do you expect to play and win without putting any of the work in? at least make it make sense no game should just hand you victories

I’m saying that there shouldn’t be a formula to win. I’m saying it should be closer to the main game series. I never said it’s “too hard”. How I collecting and evolving 3000+ pokemon not putting in work? It’s the EXTRA work that puts me off.

While I know you said you didn't want to invest, I would recommend (if you want to) just making some smaller investments to start. For example if you put this Victini on Quick Attack+V-Create+Psychic you may have a lot more fun. PVP is a bit of a rabbit hole for sure.

That's totally fair though. I wouldn't want to power something up if I knew it was going to be bad later. If you aim to stay away from being competitive, I would just focus on having fun with some of your favorites. (1/2)

If you ever decide to dive all in, there's many communities and content creators that can help you improve! At the end of the day it's a video game and if it's not fun or you don't enjoy it it's not worth a headache. There's tons of ways to enjoy PVP without being tryhard. :)

PvP is a lot more enjoyable when you understand it, refusing to learn a game doesn’t make it unfair or bad it just means that you don’t want to learn. and that’s okay! But it’s not the games fault

Makes zero sense to me how a bug type could possibly beat a fire type in PvP 😭 I realize it’s water/bug and I’m fire/psychic but STILL like canonically bug type is the worst in battles, fire is one of the best, and water isn’t even in top 10 😭

@ToneTheVillain To be fair, even if this was the mainline games, Golisopod is a water bug type, Bug and Water are good against Fire and Psychic 😂

@XIcyBladeX @PokeMarr Vicitini can win against goli in the zero shield in ultra league. Or it can win other scenarios if the opposing goli is using an incorrect fast move like this one was. PvP in pogo is just more involved than “this type beats this type” but is part of it.

1. Apologies on behalf of some of these comments that really crossed a line 2. It is perfectly reasonable not to spend ressources on pvp if you dont enjoy it, however i dont think “fairness” is a good argument then, if your opponents chose to invest the ressources its only fair that they benefit from it if you dont 3. “Its a Bug vs a fire type” Well yes but actually no. Its a Water Bug mon, that gets hit neutral by Fire moves, while Water hits Victini for Super Effective damage (also whatever moveset they have they dont really take advantage??) But even Bug types hit neutral because Victini is part-Psychic-Type. Its also irrelevant which types are cannonically good, because yea, Bug types in general are cannonically often weak, but its less about the typing but more about the mon themselfes. There were always cannonically good bug mon, starting with gen 1 pinsir, and going from scizor to genesect to volcarona etc. 4. I dont know what your ressource situation is, but if you are not low on tms, researching the correct movesets on pvpoke takes probably a minute, even if you usually dont care about pvp, its faster than a single game or tweet. If youre generally low on ressources, its often better to play cheap mon disregarding expensive mon or good pvp iv. If you find the most trash IV swampert with Hydro Cannon that just evolves around 2500, its always better than any underlevelled mon, and you dont even need ressources.

It would help if your victini was powered up. That cp difference, makes a lot of difference.

I mean type matchups aren't everything tbf. Also, the Victini is underleveled as well (I get that you said you don't want to dump resources, but you can't really complain when everyone else dumps the resources and they win due to it, as they're raising their stats).

Well, first I recommend running quick attack on your Victini, and it’s also under leveled.

It's so unfun it's not even funny. I only do it for the rewards.

It’s BORRRINGGGG and such a waste of stardust.

It's so largely luck based too.. if you start with a pokemon that's at a disadvantage vs their starter and you have to swap first, you basically just lose. And some of the timing gimmicky nonsense, it just makes 0 sense and is not fun at all.

Running the right moves on your Victini might help, also you're Fire/Psychic and your opponent is Bug/Water, it's not Fire VS Bug

First price of advice: ignore the PvP douchbags. They’ll gatekeep knowledge and enjoy trolling you instead of offering help. You’ll know them when you see them. Second: check out and learn the best pokemon for each league if you have limited candy/dust

Your opponent is using a faster charging fast move than you which means it can vastly out pace you to moves! It takes them 12 turns using metal claw to get to x-scissor compared to you taking 20 turns to get to psychic because of 4 turn confusions

i mean ive seen some wonky matchups like Mandibuzz being able to beat shadow alolan sandslash if it runs shadow claw, even the powder snow matchup is super close

I’d recommend a pokedaxi go PvP guide for an in depth explanation 😅 some fast moves have shorter durations and earn more energy while others have slower durations but can do some more damage. Your argument of fire beating bug would be more relevant in the main series

I'm not sure what is "unfair" here but I'm sorry you're being made fun of. Before I really got into it I thought it was crazy spending that much resources on it. The reality is you have to invest resources to be successful at it. What you can try to do is look for "budget" Mon.
