Recent Indian history has been witness to targeted attacks against the Brahmin community. The Chitpavan Brahmin killings in the aftermath of MK Gandhi's assassination and the Kashmiri Pandit genocide in the 1990s are stark examples of this. Today, hate speech against Brahmins and the vilification of Brahmins in politics, media, academia and pop culture have been normalised. At first glance, it may seem that Brahmins are the exclusive targets of this hate, but in reality, it is the Hindu religion, culture and way of life under attack. Shri Mahalingam Balaji has created a petition against such hate speech targeting Brahmins. The derogatory, abusive remarks made by Thungathurthi MLA Mandula Samuel on Brahmins, ridiculing Hindu Dharma and mocking sacred Vedic mantras reflect the Congress party’s deep-rooted hatred towards Hindus, Sanatana Dharma and Hindu Customs. I am amazed at the radio silence maintained by Congress and its ecosystem. I dare Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy to take action against the MLA for his tirade against Brahmins, Hindus. Brahmin hate is not new for Congress party, how can we forget the anti-brahmin riots which took place in 1948, where Congress karyakartas lynched Brahmins, especially Chitpavan Brahmins. Congress must immediately issue apology for the MLA remarks.
