Chris says she hates singing, but after watching her character so far, I get it now, it wasn't the singing she hated. It was the messed up world that turned her against it. Ever since she was a kid, she never got to just be happy or have a normal life like other children, so she got all twisted up inside and started hating everything and everyone... until she realized there's still good out there, and she shouldn't give up on it. She's been unable to maintain a friendship with every single White friend she has had because, in her head, she has created a list of things that she's owed and then, when something happens, she expects the White person to pay the 'toll' to her. When they don't pay that toll, she feels like they didn't give her what she's owed, and so...that's that. These people are a nightmare. Especially the women.

I first found her when we started filming, but then she disappeared because I had to go to work and many places. It was still unstable. I usually only understood her when she was with Bambi. But when I went back for more read-through and filming, I started to understand her character more when she was with other people. I was like, "Phew! She's finally here." Because if I have to play her character without really knowing who she is, it would just be acting, memorizing scripts, and delivering lines. When she feels sad and has to cry, it would be hard if I don't know who she really is. I wouldn't be invested in her story or understand why she has to cry at all.
