The government and train companies have plans to close nearly one thousand ticket offices across the rail network. The train companies in England have opened up public consultations until 1st September, where we have the opportunity to voice our objections.

I am in the same predicament regarding being a wheelchair user, using the train is almost impossible without the trained and competent station staff.government haven't got a clue have they

It's been going on for years. Many places don't have staff or offices anyway. Pity that wasn't pushed before but I guess rural lines were lost a long time ago anyway.

I have nothing against disabled people, I have a disability myself. What I am against is technological luddites. Ticket Offices + Guards on the train are a thing of the past. Only 0.6% of the Population use ticket offices. Ticket systems have moved on. About time Unions did 2!
