I have a serious question here that maybe some LEOs could answer. Why didn't the arresting officer call for at least one backup unit before attempting the arrest?

Most folks don't realize how hard it is to run wearing a vest, full duty belt, sidearm, etc. Your adding an extra 40lbs of gear give or take 5 lbs depending on the officers load out. In this case the officer seemed to be in decent cardio, but that can't be stressed enough. Cardio

The officer knew who the suspect was, and that he was wanted- called him by name and immediately went to cuff him when suspect exited the vehicle. Yes, IMO he should have tailed him and waited for backup. I stopped a car one night and then learned the driver, a former Army Ranger, had a warrant for assault. I kept him waiting patiently in his car while I waited for backup. Told him the delay was due to him having out of state plates and engaged in polite small talk until backup arrived. The suspect didn't resist. No telling if he would have resisted if I tried to arrest him without backup ...

Actually LEO here: sometimes it depends on how we feel during an encounter. I don’t always need backup if anything they may make it worse. We are prepared to fight alone

Footage from the Canton Police Department's audit meeting has been mysteriously deleted. The missing footage was of one of the auditors answering a question about the Canton Sallyport cameras - specifically regarding the claim that they are motion-activated and one filming inverted. Interestingly, the footage right when the auditor is to say who he spoke to within the department, cuts and jumps back to this Canton resident asking another question. I remember this answer as I was there. I remember thinking how ridiculous the auditor sounded by attempting to dodge the very clear question of: "how do you know it films inverted if you didn't look at it yourself?" He said he spoke to then chief Helena Rafferty. He claimed that there was a button on these cameras that you can press to film inverted. That somehow this button must have been pressed at some point and was never corrected. Bullshit. And now that very answer is gone. Just like Brian Higgins speech at former police chief's Ken Berkowitz retirement party where he said that Berky was the person you call to hide a dead body. You don't delete video footage for any reason. Why remove this answer from a continuously recorded audit hearing? Why remove one person's speech from a continuously recorded party? Why remove video footage of a vehicle in a garage?
