DA MP Liam Jacob’s , 24 years old, absolutely annihilates, destroys and smashed Minister Gayton McKenzie. What is good to watch is a 24 year Jacob’s , maturity level vs the 51 year old Minister Gayton McKenzie, who could not answer questions. Having seeing Gayton in Parliament, I am not sure if he is a minister just for the publicity flying around the world allegedly first class at taxpayers expense. LIAM JACOBS IS SPECIAL. HE HOLDS ALL TO ACCOUNT. WE NEED MORE LIAM JACOBS IN PARLIAMENT. To add on the patience and maturity level of Liam JACOBS is something else. Gayton McKenzie was all over the place and could not answer basic question. Not sure if Gayton was close to tears.

What a YSRCP leader said about me on camera, at a public meeting was not merely an insult. It was a vile, casteist attack aimed at humiliating a woman and a Dalit holding a constitutional office. The language he used is so disgraceful that it cannot even be repeated in public. That fact alone exposes the culture YSRCP has nurtured and normalised. This is what some men do when a woman rises through her own hard work, conviction and public service. Unable to challenge her politically, they resort to abuse and intimidation. I have faced such attacks throughout my life, and every one of them has only strengthened my resolve. I will not bow down. I will not be intimidated. I will not be silenced. Yesterday I spoke in the Westminster Hall debate, secured by my good friend Richard Burgon MP, on banning second jobs for MPs. Being an MP isn’t a side hustle. It’s a public duty. Our constituents expect and deserve representatives whose only priority is serving their communities, not chasing private interests or boosting their own bank balance. Public office should never be a business opportunity. Our loyalty belongs to our constituents, and our constituents alone. It’s time to ban second jobs for MPs. #BanSecondJobs

The violence against Zimbabwean human rights lawyer Doug Coltart today at the parliamentary hearings for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 at the Harare City Sports Centre is disgraceful. The racist abuse directed at him by fellow Zimbabweans is equally shameful, exposing a dangerous erosion of tolerance, respect for the rule of law, and basic democratic values. Whatever happens with Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, it is already tainted by these actions of ZANUPF hooligans, thugs, and despicable individuals. You cannot take parliamentary hearings to the people and then assault them for airing their views, for opposing what you are saying, or for holding alternative opinions. That is not consultation, it is intimidation, and it completely undermines the legitimacy of the entire process. Beating up a fellow Zimbabwean who is a lawyer, stealing his phone, and preventing him from speaking is the very worst conduct in any parliamentary hearing process, including this Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3. Those behind these actions should be deeply ashamed, because they are not only undermining the process, they are embarrassing the country and eroding respect for the rule of law.

It’s deeply disappointing to see elected representatives like Murlidhar Mohol and Ravindra Dhangekar using their political power to promote private businesses. Holding public office—whether as Corporator, Mayor, MLA, or MP—means serving the people, not marketing real estate or commercial ventures for private gain. Public officials aren’t allowed to have, or even appear to have, any stake in such businesses. This blatant use of political influence for commercial advertising is a serious abuse of authority and a betrayal of public trust. It’s not a gray area—it’s a clear violation of the ethical duties every politician owes their constituents. We need accountability, transparency, and an uncompromising separation between governance and business promotion. Fannie Masemola, asking if Police Minister Senzo Mchunu “wanted to put a stop to the Political Killings Task Team.” Masemola replied, “Yes… it shows your suspicions were correct.” James added, “The ANC minister… wanted to stop investigations into a drug cartel that has captured our country.” Masemola countered: “He is not the Minister of the ANC; he is the Minister of Police in the Republic of South Africa.” James shot back: “Deployed by the ANC… We have to root out the rot.”

The scenes of an MP ordering a bank and private businesses to shut down in the name of a national clean-up raise two fundamental questions of Where she derives that authority & who empowered her to enforce presidential directives. A presidential appeal for a national clean-up is not a military decree that authorises MPs to compel compliance from citizens or private institutions. The constitutional duty of an MP of is to make laws and hold the Executive accountable & not to enforce executive directives. No serious country relies on periodic clean-up exercises as its sanitation strategy. I have never believed that occasional communal labour is the answer to Ghana's chronic waste management crisis or perennial flooding. slogans about building a cleanliness culture don’t exist anywhere in the world. No country has such a culture. What those countries rather have are sanitation budgets, sanitation personnel, effective sanitation institutions and the political will to enforce sanitation laws. Clean environments are built on systems, not volunteerism. Finally, we must stop confusing populism with public policy. Effective waste management is a professional public service planned, funded and executed by institutions with the technical capacity backed by consistent enforcement of sanitation laws. Ghana deserves institutional competence & sanitation policies over symbolic gestures and political optics!
