I'm guessing some type of electrical issue and that guy was actually trying to save the other man's life breaking the connection between him and the door. It's the only thing that makes sense. I've watched it a few times

WOW - red shirt guy was fast-thinking & acting, knowing exactly how to respond to electrical shock situation. Good thing Dad & baby were OK. This could have ended much worse.
