✨ A lot of progress on my drone sim today which has now evolved to a kind of soldier + drone sim (my entry to the #vibejam even though I can't win of course) Today I changed the sounds from synth to real sounds, I edited a lot in Audacity to make these shooting loops and now it sounds much more real Also added ambient background sounds like nature birds but also general like distant war sounds And of course you hear the drone sound we had before The new game mode I'll show soon is you start as a soldier and you have like 3 drones in your backpack you can use, you press F and then you launch a drone from your point and attack, then if you exit that or it crashes you're back to being a soldier, very fun With the sounds it feels much more real and scary! I keep saying but then next is multiplayer...cause I want to see you all walk and fly around in my game 😊😊😊

Okay I take everything back I was on the Suno 3.5 free model which produces very bad vocals This is Suno 4.5+ with the new vocal model it's really really good As a Drum & Bass head, I'd say it's at the level of D&B of about ~5 years ago, very passable as real, every song is very SUB FOCUS so that must have been a lot of the training, which means they picked the best artists of each genre (and maybe licensed them?) 🕹️ As the #vibejam organizer, I sadly can't participate But I still really really really wanted to make an FPV drone sim 😊 So I started to make it today, it has the real movement like a real drone, swerving left and right fast (with your mouse) and steering with keys WASD and Space to go up and Shift to go down, it's just a draft but you can try it here: 🚁 I love that typical VHS-ey analog video signal noise, so i tried to emulate it and of course it gets noisier the further you fly away and you lose radio signal I want to improve the look more to make it look really realistic this time, last year the plane game was fun but it didn't look realistic, this year we can try to go for more photorealistic as AI might finally be able to do it And of course I added an onboard gun and grenades you can throw off the drone Next I wanna add like more stuff to fly through like buildings and maybe some moving tanks and real enemies to shoot too A challenge is to get it to look realistic with just AI generated trees and scenery etc. I will follow the 90% AI rule and try to generate assets instead of importing them Anyway first impression is that there's been a lot of progress in AI models, they're much smarter than when we did the Vibe Jam a year ago, they still make mistakes but much less and it's easier to get your point across what you want them to build, very cool!

2 years ago, Riffusion was one of the first music generating AI models, by finetuning Stable Diffusion literally on images of waveforms, and then decoding those as audio again I made a song for my gf with it called "Bunny Trouble, Trouble Bubble" about a year ago, extremely catchy and we loved it But it was capped to 12 seconds and I could only imagine how it'd be as a full song Now Suno is finally good enough and I used it as an input so I could extend it from a 12 second clip to 3 minute song, it's essentially the audio version of img2img It took a few times extending it and half the times the output was very bad but the other half it was really great The quality is still a bit low because Riffusion's quality itself was quite low, so that's not Suno's fault, it just extends the low quality into a full song, what I need is an audio upscaler to fix that The fun thing about this, every year music generating AI will be better and I can try inputting the song again to make it better and better If you wanna do the same with your short clip: 1) go to Suno 2) click Create 3) click Custom 4) Upload Audio, upload your short clip here Your existing clip now gets added to the listing on the right (bit confusing) 5) Now hover over it and tap extend 6) More confusingly it will now only play the extended part not the full song 7) To get the full song, click the 3 vertical dots ... -> Create -> Get Whole Song 8) That will stitch your original input clip and the extended clip into one Now you'll probably have a 1 minute clip, so 9) Extend that WHOLE SONG clip again and do the same stitch thing (Get Whole Song) again Depending on the clips you like and not, choose the ones you wanna continue with by stitching them By now you'll have about a 3 minute song!
