I spoke with FL state Rep. Alex Andrade about the theory swirling in Tallahassee that Ron DeSantis is positioning himself to replace Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary. DeSantis is term-limited, doesn’t own a home, and needs a soft landing. The plan? Trump appoints him, Byron Donalds or Casey DeSantis becomes acting Governor, and DeSantis gets his soft landing. Roger Stone backed me up on the same intel yesterday. Ron wants out. Casey wants control. But GOP advisors don’t want to see division ahead of the 2026 midterms. Will Casey gracefully bow out and let Byron become acting Governor if Trump makes her husband Defense Secretary? This is their play. We shall see what happens.
