I have paper mill experience. This is a Hayout. Means shit has gone to shreds. Machine gets some set backs its bad but better than a sheet break

Generally when something like this happens it helps to hit the emergency stop button or turn off the machine! 🤷‍♀️🤯

Runaway reel. Actually super dangerous if it get chucked off I’ve seen these actually fly off at that rotational speed and fly across the shop floor and through the wall….. no one died or even got hurt but it could have been instantly multiple casualties.

When you tear toilet paper and one end stays attached and you get a foot long 1in wide hanger. Thats this but on a massive scale.

I worked in a paper mill for years. When the paper is super thick it’s an absolute nightmare. That almost looks like napkin so is a lot more forgiving when cleaning up. Either way makes for a long 12 hour shift when it keeps happening 😂

This is called a “hay out” in a paper mill. I work as a hand on a cardboard liner paper mill. It’s pretty common. Theres many reasons for a hay out. Tension, wrinkles on the reel or operator error. I see atleast one per shift in a mill that has 3 paper machines.

Don't think it was supposed to be doing that. 🤷‍♂️🤣
