This is more than just a hotel. With an additional £200,000 investment from City Hall, Crisis at Christmas is running into January and giving people sleeping rough warmth, safety and support this winter. It is just one of the ways we are working to end rough sleeping in London for good.

My graphic shows the number of vacant and derelict sites highlighted in red in Dublin City. The housing system in Ireland is in crisis, primarily due to ineffective governmental policies. The prolonged dereliction of properties should be considered social vandalism, a crime against the state and the common good. An effective vacant and derelict tax, coupled with a compulsory sales order, could dissuade landlords from hoarding land, particularly sites that have been vacant and derelict for an extended period. 🇬🇧BROKEN BRITAIN🇬🇧 Yesterday, this homeless man had his nose bitten off in a violent attack in broad daylight He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged within a few hours. The police secured him a place at the local night shelter, but when he arrived, his place had been given to another homeless person 💔 Violently attacked with half his nose missing, in a very vulnerable state with addiction problems, he's back sleeping rough, scared, and wondering if he's going to be attacked again I found him again today in the back of a flat doorway with nothing but a dirty ripped sleeping bag. Again, there was no place available at the night shelter Why is he not a priority? I did all I could with what we had available from previous appeals, he has a new sleeping bag, fresh clothes, an emergency shelter tent, a panic alarm, and he's been fed The other person in the video has taken him in for the night, so we know he's safe, at least for now Why has he not been kept in the hospital? Surely he needs plastic surgery? Why is he not a priority with the emergency housing team? He clearly self-harms has addiction problems and is very vulnerable This is England 2024 The number of people sleeping rough is up 27% on last year 61% higher than it was 10 years ago, and 120% higher than when data collection began in 2010 It's time all the major parties came together and pledged to end homelessness This is not supposed to be a third-world country, but look around you. What do you see? How many more people have to suffer before action is taken? What has our country become😢

Reports that the Irish army has APCs on the streets of Dublin. So far, it's the inner city going up, but if the army gets rough with the people, the big working class estates on the outer ring will join in too. This could all still calm down, but if it doesn't, everything will be utterly changed.

And we’re seeing results. - Nearly 1,000 fewer people are sleeping on our streets compared to 2024—a major sign that our strategy is working. - Unsheltered homelessness in San Francisco is now at its lowest level in 15 years. - The number of people in tents is down 85%.
