In fact, couples whose combined income is a million dollars or more will also be taxed. Tax experts call it the marriage penalty. So if you have two individuals who each make $600,000, neither would pay the state income tax if they filed as individuals, but if they are married and they file jointly, they would owe a tax of about $20,000” And so it begins… next they’ll start lowering the threshold and it’ll soon apply to everyone

Previewing tomorrow's launch of the PNP Jamaica manifesto lite, Golding said a PNP government will move the income tax threshold to $3.5 million.
