Loved Gary as a player and manager here. If he'd stayed and received the backing that Lampard did, we would have gone up, probably as champions.

But that plan shift didn’t happen did it? Lampard came in and spent a fortune.

@butch_ben Confusing this… we should have all seen the playing 5 players from the youth setup as a red flag 🚩 for financial problems! But then Mel went on and jizzed more money we didn’t have with Lampard… one word comes to mind SHAMBLES!!!

Can’t argue with any of this, ultimately did a good job for the club and he left for a better opportunity at a time the club were looking down the barrel of financial restrictions.
