What’s so worrisome here is that we Americans, and our president…they all talk about short wars, they all talk about mission accomplished moments. ‘Oh yes, the war will be over in a few weeks, maybe a few months.’ We heard the same kind of rhetoric during the Vietnam War that, once we sent troops in 1965, that war would be over once American troops hit the ground.
