Absolutely spot on. Having only driven an old knobs & buttons Toyota for years (which I loved) I ended up with a brand new leased MG last year. Didn’t even realise it was Chinese made. Overly complex hazardous touch screen & useless built in satnav open to CCP spying.

Spot on re: Digital Touch screens and somewhat ironic when you consider the various traffic related offences regard the use of a mobile phone or Sat-Nav while driving, go figure…!!!

I agree. I like knobs and buttons too. If I'm in a car with a touch screen I ask the driver the keep his/her eyes on the road. I adjust the temperature, reduce the volume... (Same with their mobile phones.) I'd rather end up friendless than dead.

I love my petrol driven, 2018 Jimny with its bog standard dashboard like yours. Absolutely hate screens & gizmos -a dangerous distraction. Was v lucky to get this model as they hardly made any during Covid & they are now sought after so am hanging on to it till it drops -or I do.

This makes so much sense. New cars are like sitting in a cockpit with distracting functionality you'll never use and basics that are difficult to access. One reason why I gave up the repeatedly brand new contract hire merry-go-round and got myself a 10 year old Vauxhall.

Not allowed to use a mobile phone but we have cars with all these distracting screens now, I hate them.

Yes we are like you! Also, how stupid will those screens look in 10 years when they will start failing. Will we have to replace the cars just because of the screens? That is not in line with their fake climate change narrative, so they should at least pretend to agree.

What grinds my gears about new cars is digital screens instead of mirrors ! Talk about over engineering something that works perfectly fine .
