I just watched #Superman. Here are my initial thoughts.

This seems very very insincere and makes me worry the film sucks.

Superman WAS cheesy and corny - but he EVOLVED. Not only on screen but in comics - It sounds like you are just pre-empting and making excuses for what is now undoubtedly a campy corny mess.
