This is insane!🔥 This is a 720p (2D) video I shot of my kids 15 years ago! I used AI to upscale it, depth-map it, & used the depth map to convert it to 3D SBS, & then converted that to Spatial Video for Apple Vision Pro (MV-HEVC). My son is currently a senior in high school, and my daughter is a sophomore in college. This video has complete spatial depth when viewed in the Apple Vision Pro. Obviously, you can't appreciate that via this post. But it's like I'm there & I can see into this room. Talk about giving you the feels.🥹 This can be done with ANY video. 🤯 I'm working on refining the workflow, as it's a bit cumbersome. I plan to share it, but holy cow! I had to post this.

Today is exciting! We are opening up the TestFlight waitlist for our new App “AuraTap”, a speed networking platform for Apple Vision Pro. Plus we made a little presentation. (link in the comments) For me this also marks the next chapter as a spatial product designer. I have been designing & imagining Apps for visionOS for more than one year now and have found my true passion with it. With AuraTap, I challenged myself to design an app experience that centers on the human connection wrapped in a premium user interface that adheres to Apple’s design principles and guidelines. Proudest accomplishment of 2023, I’ll go first. In the world of ultra running- this is not all that special. But in my world it was the full circle of the journey from boy to man. It’s the kind of thing that even as you commit to doing it, even as I laced up my shoes I didn’t know if I was ready. It just seemed so massive and daunting. When I first took up running I was a skinny kid with stick legs that couldn’t run for more than half a mile before I had to stop and walk. But I was so damn inspired to change my life. You can do pretty much anything if you’re too stubborn to stop. 2023 was the biggest year of my life so far in a lot of ways. But these 33 hours will be some of the best of my life til the day I die. No test. No testimony baby. Bring on 2024 🎉🎉🎉

My Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn port for Meta Quest 3 / 3S is no longer just a standard flat-screen version. I’ve converted it into a spatial app and detached the radar and build menus from the main game window. All windows can be freely arranged and resized to your liking. A language toggle (German/English) is included as well. Local LAN multiplayer and online play are also functional (I’ve set up a server for this purpose). Just a bit more polishing, and I might be able to release an initial version by the weekend for anyone interested :) I plan to add more features to turn this into a great VR / spatial experience :) The versions for iPad, MacOS and Apple Vision Pro are also still work in progress.
