I think he’s infected too. There’s a crack in his SCBA that slows down the process (I don’t know if that’s possible). Otherwise it would make no sense. But then again 911 writers don’t really care about logic 🥲

i mean we've seen it (sorta) with him before when he got athena out of the fire then had a heart attack after they were safely outside. it's totally plausible that he's ignoring any of his injuries/adrenaline pushing him through.
