That is so damning for the sanctioning body, hearing this from a former Superstar driver

The numbers don't lie when you see that before the stage era the amount of phantom cautions was common

I've always felt like NASCAR cost us Carl Edwards and this makes my feelings stronger.

This is the problem with NASCAR, The France Families perception of how the sport should be run vs how it should actually be. I have admired Carl for stepping away from the sport the way he did. And now confirmed the reason he did. NASCAR doesn’t need Kayfabe!

He mentioned when they were talking about stage breaks that the only time a caution should be thrown is when the track is not drivable, I am not shocked by this but this is a nascar problem when your stars leave because of rule changes that are for entertainment not sport

Carl got fucked. Don’t blame him for waking seat

I’ve semi hated this sport for these exact reasons over the last decade. This just confirms that I’ve had every reason to feel that way. Stage racing is a gimmick so they don’t have to throw the debris yellow. This just isn’t pure sport anymore

must be weird to love a sport then grow to hate it because of how its run #nascar

He left because the racing was no longer legitimate…he’d probably hate a spec car…

Hearing him say he walked away because it’s a lot of work all year to piss away on a bullshit restart. That’s modern nascar in nutshell….. entertainment ruined a sport and still is.
