I also think it depends on the person receiving it. Some are always grateful and don't expect but others will become conditioned to believe they are entitled. You don't know who those people are until you see them show themselves. I was brought up to give back when I receive to pay it forward. If someone gives me more than I can give back then I was brought up to be kind in return and show generosity in other ways to show appreciation.
