I'm glad that he has decided, after two years, to visit Manipur. He should have gone long before. It's very unfortunate that he allowed the situation to continue for so long, resulting in so many deaths. This isn't in line with the tradition of Prime Ministers in India; regardless of party, they would visit during times of pain and suffering. That's been the tradition since independence. I've been in touch with the District Collector on that issue. I've also written a letter to the minister. The conditions are appalling, and the district collectors had some temporary toilets installed. We are also discussing this because they are planning to relocate the girls. It should not be a place that is so far from their home that it becomes difficult for them to get an education, and slowly they drop out. We have also asked the minister to locate a place that is closer and to build this school and to repair the facilities in this existing school in the meantime so that they can move back close to their homes and finish their education. I have written to the minister, and I have also spoken to the District Collector and have requested that the most important thing is that they continue their education in a safe, secure, clean, and hygienic environment.
