I learned this technique over 20 years ago from Reggie Smith that Albert discovered. Too many false teachings, the back elbow should come down first before the hands. Sadaharu Oh taught Reggie in 1982 to bring your elbow to your belly button- This has helped so many players.

Here’s Reggie teaching the back elbow coming down technique at a clinic we did with the legend @msween29 . You can see how much force Reggie could provide at contact with just one arm when Mike pushed against the bat.

@thepureswingsd Absolutely. Hands have to stay tight to the shoulder as this happens or you will lose control of the barrel.

@thepureswingsd The Red Arrow path in the video of Pujols is the shape of the Brachistochrome Curve. The Brachistochrome Curve represents the fastest path, under gravity, between two points. It’s the ideal bat path.
