Jacob Tierney discusses his process for writing Heated Rivalry and outlining season two: "The book [Heated Rivalry] is in five parts and very quickly I was like, part one, episode one. Part two, episode two. It was very clear to me. …So in this case, I actually did not outline. Because I was just using these parts of this book, and I knew these books so well at this point. Something that I did, and that I'm trying to do again now when I'm writing the new season, is I'm trying to use—Because there's a dreaminess to this show, I try to use my memory as a guide. I'm like, what do I remember? And then I try to give primacy to the stuff that I remember and that has stuck in my brain all these years with this story. So I’m like, oh I have to do that! And that's a nice way for me to kind of center things. Where if I have to do that, then it means maybe I don't have to do this, and it maybe means I want to combine or collapse different things. Because if this is going to take up—If one incident that I'm thinking of is going to take up the space in an episode that I think of as the heart, …then you don't need to do a first version of it in the same way, you know? Little things like that. That being said, for this season because I'm working with a co-writer as well, we have outlined everything. And every time, I do approach outlining like a teenager, where I'm like, [modulates voice] I don't want to. But then when I do it, I'm always like, why don't I always do this? ROSALÍA talks about what it was like to learn 13 languages to sing the songs on her new album “LUX”. “I speak a little Catalan because it’s my mother tongue. I speak a little Spanish and barely any English, but, you know… I love learning. I love learning things. So I wanted to learn different languages for a long time. I’ve been practicing on Duolingo, you know. But sometimes I’m like, ‘I need to do more.’ So while I was trying to figure out what the concept would be, because I was curious about learning from other cultures and how spirituality can be understood in many different places around the world in different ways, I was learning about different saints from all over the world. And I was reading, reading, reading so many hagiographies, hagiographies. Then I thought, ‘OK, let me put a map on the wall.’ Let me pin different stories, different women from around the world. And if I was making a song inspired by Joan of Arc, then I would do it in French. So depending on the story I wanted to reference, I would use one language or another. And then I would write about 20 different verse options and send them to a translator, a proper translator, get them back, tweak things, record, and then send them to people who would correct the pronunciation, all of it.”

I screen grabbed this a long time ago. Look at the very end..much like she did with Brennan a couple times Karen looks right into Lally’s soul. A couple of Jews VS. hundreds of Hamas supporters - I stand in solidarity with Michael and Anastasia and Barbara at Concordia, Shira, Moranne, and all my Jewish brothers and sisters and ALL good-hearted people in the world against intolerance and hatred. Here in Montreal. In Toronto. Everywhere in the world. Against lies and propaganda and people being brainwashed and led astray from the goodness of their souls. I do not hate these people. I feel sorry for them. But this is not about them. This is about US. This is about our morality. I do not compare myself to them. I look in the mirror of my people and overall, I like what I see. I am proud of who we are with our achievements, moral clarity and yes, our imperfections. I encourage all good people to learn the facts. To speak up. To show up. And to stand up to bullies. Bullies are cowards. And bullies are afraid of one thing: those who are not afraid of them. I am not so afraid that I won’t stand up to them. Michael is not afraid. Anastasia is not afraid. Barbara is not afraid. We all have a choice. I choose humanity. For my children. And yours. #imthatjew
