I have never heard entitlement like this. She listed all the standards a man must meet before she would consider marriage, and her own mother ended the performance with one sentence: “You did not have all those standards for the other men you had children with. If you did, you would be married.” That was not disrespect. That was a mother refusing to let revisionist history masquerade as wisdom. Standards are supposed to guide your choices before the consequences, not appear afterward as a shield against accountability. #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks

People love to be free to make their own choices, but when the consequences from their choices come, they want freedom from those consequences. It doesn't work like that. Discipline typically gets associated with punishment, compliance with rules, or obedience to authority. And I don't know about you but I don't wake up in the morning wanting to just be an obedient person to whatever an authority tells me to do. I don't wake up in the morning wanting to be compliant with a set of rules. I wake up and I want to produce things. I wake up and I want to be in control of myself. I want to make choices. I want to make decisions. I don't want to wake up and be a robot that just follows what everybody else says to do. If you're going to make choices, then discipline means you're more intentional about your choices and actions. You have a more clear purpose behind them. You have higher standards. You put in more effort. You're more in control of those choices. And you bring more skill to them. This happened at a gas station while both this man and woman were filling up their vehicles. The man noticed the woman flying the Mexican flag and asked her why she was flying that flag instead of a USA flag. Apparently she didn’t answer and he kept asking her. He told her he was asking nicely to respect “our” country (The USA) and she responded “I want to put MY flag up because I’m proud of being Mexican. I’m sorry that you’re racist…..” Many people had differing opinions. Some said good for her for sticking up for her culture, but others, even some Hispanic people said that the USA is now their country which has afforded them things that they never would have had possible before. That they were proud Mexican/Americans but they only fly the USA flag. I don’t think what he asked was racist. I think many people feel the same way, we are here, the USA is our country, why not be proud of the USA and fly OUR flag. Before you come at me, I have two kids- they are both part Hispanic/Mexican, so you can’t say I don’t like Hispanic or Mexicans. It’s not about that. Do you think this guy said anything racist? Or do you think it was a legitimate question? Would it bother you too? Do you think it’s a free country and she can fly whatever flag she wants? What do you think?
