He doesn’t die, he gets severely messed up tho. You can see him squirming on the ground after the attack. But absolutely this arc pulled out some insane stunts. Probably because it’s directly setting up ROTS and parts of the original trilogy.

I see it as a vision of the clone wars are not important. They are quickly thrown to the side to reveal the real scheme of getting anakin alone and seduced to the darkness

This marked the "True End" of the greatest television series, R.I.P. clone wars (and yes, I know about the Final Season, only a couple of great episodes) but Sacrifice was the last and best one of season 6, we should have had more.
