I love this character man

he's so fun and his combos are so satisfying to pull off. i want to take him into ranked, but i hear that he's not that good in high elo which is weird because i thought he'd be insane for tank reliant comps😭

I think he might be a good pick if your team has 2 other DPS and the opponent has 2 tanks. They're almost essentially playing a 4 v 5 & your other DPS can go crazy because there's nothing to sponge the damage.

Any tips on how best to aim his leap? The arc feels really inconsistent given the drop near the end

I mostly use leap after M2 to combo a grounded opponent and pull them out of positioning. I don't use it very often to snipe people out of the air.

He's actually so fun.

He’s a blast, they just need to upgrade his kit a bit.

Same, he's my main. He needs a bit of a buff in a few areas, or you're forced to play him as an ambush dive duelist. He needs a bit more damage, a constant passive heal, and reduce viscous rampage to 2 secs with two charges. This will let him dive in, tank a bit, and dive out.

Use his dash to hit/stun target, then use leap to scoop target out of combat area away from their teammates, Savage claw and dash to safety if need be. Remember to use undying animal prior to each engagement or you'll get melted before the fight even starts.
