He's honestly not the best dad, but he could have been worse. I still really hate him for how pathetic he was for leaving his family at their worst instead of being the man of the house. This man is a total coward. But he deserves the hate he gets. Still, he's not the worst human being possible, he's just scared, and he made horrible mistakes. You can tell how much he regrets it. He's trying to atone for his sins and be better. He's seeking forgiveness, even putting his life in danger for his blood in front of a being that could instantly kill him.
