This debate between Candice Owens & Jason reminds me of that “what is a woman” debate that came to a complete halt when “what is a cat” was asked.

He is the poster child for why I loath effeminate men. He’s a misogynist, sassy AF, and from this exchange, borderline retarded.

You can easily counter this argument with the fact that while both gender and race are socially constructed categories, gender identity is increasingly recognized as something internal and deeply personal; how someone understands themselves. Racial identity is more often linked to shared historical, cultural, and lived experiences tied to group oppression and ancestry. Dolezal wanted to selectively appropriate an identity with none of the lived experience associated with it. Trans people want to align with internal truth and alleviate dysphoria. Neither of these people critically thought about this subject.
