This made me tear up. Dogs are such an amazing gift to us. I am a German Shepard die hard. My last one (rest in peace) was my best friend, loved me when no one else would, was always there loving me unconditionally. When she passed I didn't want to get another because I felt like I would be betraying her. After a year of mourning, I now have a new one and he was born on my birthday, long story there, but it went against the odds, and he is my best friend, like one of my kids. He is by my side at all times and will never judge me, will never not love me. He is someone that I can count on when I cannot count on anyone else. I thank God for him, he is a blessing and my best friend.

My wife brought my dog to my home coming after all my deployments. This was the reaction everytime. I loved it.
