I love working with React etc (and teaching it, obviously). Because React & co are amazing libraries that allow us to build amazing websites & web apps. BUT! There is a but... The majority of all websites are actually NOT powered by React etc.

I talk about this & more in my latest podcast episode:

I built a major marketing initiative for a big company using WP and AlpineJS and when they got bought up, the team was shocked that you could do what I did with something so ‘boring’

This is 💯 true, In companies, maintaining business apps are still in PHP, or In MVC

Over 40% of websites are powered by WordPress, pretty much all of which use jQuery.

It's because of wordpress, long live php 🙌 Tbh there are more business that can do great with just a wordpress site, than complex tech stack no one cares about.

I’d be curious as to how that list looks when you stratify it by the number of users and by the year of the most recent major update. Are high traffic sites using those when they come to crossroads?

The active users and traffic those sites have is a crucial factor to be considered too.

is there any data for those 70% websites getting how much and which type of traffic? im pretty sure most of the popular ones already shifted from php, jquery and bootstrap

Bruh, seriously 😐

Sounds familiar. I've read a number of times that Wordpress are the most common. Which is php on the backend, like you mentioned.
