I might be wrong, but I don't think I'm wrong. I think before video was subordinated to life and so actually capture it. But I think it reflexivity changed it and normal life is subordinated to video, even if no one is filming. Something was lost.

Non-stop losing my mind over this video. I know they're actors but I don't think they are *that* good. I don't recall anyone being this light, this unselfconscious. I've been around dancers now (not actors) and normies and everyone is so aware of cameras. I feel smth was lost.

I have officially become a Heideggerian

It's like the POV of the camera has been not only internalised but made primary, like we're always "on" EVEN IF THERE'S NO CAMERA. Performance (doing) over presence, over BEING, look at TPOT's dictum: "You can just do things". How about you can just BE!?!?!!?

You don't just "dance", you dance *for* the video You don't just "eat", you eat *for* the post You don't just "think", you think *for* the tweet Everything is FOR something, nothing is an end in itself There's no dwelling, just optics

Technology changes how the world shows up, Heidegger was right.

Follow up

This is just it imo, well said. What is centered/default changed and, with it, our way of being/how we show up.

yea, fuck everyone saying i was wrong lmao

Listen to the prisoner's definition of Prison. I just witnessed something that has left me profoundly moved, and I’ll share the details soon. For now, this video clip provides a unique insight into what freedom means to those confined within prison walls. You may find their interpretation of freedom both ironic and enlightening. Despite their circumstances, we captured moments of genuine laughter and joy, highlighting the incredible resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Watch this short clip to see how humor can transform even the darkest moments.

Nah you're not wrong, people behave differently now due to the ingrained understanding everything they do can be "content".

You're not wrong. When someone was filming back then you knew it would probably never be watched and would probably exist as a single tape that needed to be present to be played for anyone. An embarrassing or damning video couldn’t fly around the world in a matter of hours

@Fizeekfascism we've written about this in different words
