@kaizen000000000 If only Hitchens was still alive today, What he could have said.

@kaizen000000000 Great description, if only I was so eloquent 😍

He’s brilliant 💯

@kaizen000000000 He is, its the first time I have heard of him.

Hitchens is sincere and eloquent and I admire much about him. But his blind spot keeps him from real greatness. He can reasonably criticize Christians, but he makes no powerful argument against Christ. The teachings and doctrine of Christ are unassailable. Truth is unassailable. Hitchens’ fair criticisms of the religious were long ago condemned by Christ himself.

@kaizen000000000 I agree with everything here except Christians. Don’t do this. We don’t wish to death and destruction on anybody in order to bring Christ back.

Nice

@kaizen000000000 • His brother is a wank. •

@kaizen000000000 Hitchens was one of a kind.

@kaizen000000000 He was absolutely great, I really miss him!

@kaizen000000000 I've never known his characterization of Christians in all my years going to a Christian church, one based on the Bible. There are his cartoon versions of Christians as he describes I'm sure. I wouldn't go to such a church. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

@kaizen000000000 I respect religious people that come to these debates we need more of this today

@kaizen000000000 Eloquent and completely correct.

@kaizen000000000 A great man

@kaizen000000000 Me too.

@kaizen000000000 Despite my being a Christian, I still miss Hitchens. I disagreed with him on many things, but a more precious man with a good heart among atheists would be difficult to find.

@kaizen000000000 I often wonder how a conversation would go or sound like if Christopher sat across from the Pope, What would I learn, or what would the Pope say about Mother Teresa.

@kaizen000000000 I don’t think we should limit ourself trying to figure out God. “You are God” is one of the verses in the bible. We are made in the image of God. To reach our highest potential that can even go past God is our duty here.

@kaizen000000000 Hitchens - oratory yes, reality no. He refers to Extreme Brethren. The clue is in the name. My grandfather was a dental surgeon who set up a mission hospital in Tanganika (as was). He was also Plymouth Brethren (not the extreme one).

@kaizen000000000 He was one of many with their own opinions, not facts.

@kaizen000000000 One of one, a profound loss, we could use that voice right now.

@kaizen000000000 Damn!

@kaizen000000000 So wise he smoked and drank himself into an early grave.

@kaizen000000000 With every headline I hear I think religion poison’s everything

@kaizen000000000 Gawd, I miss Hitch.

@kaizen000000000 Keep the good fight going

@kaizen000000000 not really. he played up his oxbridge accent. that's about it.

@kaizen000000000 I listen to a Hitchens debate every year while decorating my tree.

@kaizen000000000 Another simple mind incapable of interpreting holy scripture with his English brain. Too bad … he seems a good communicator and historian at least Opinion is highly questionable

@kaizen000000000 Some idiots were briliant p

@kaizen000000000 What was in the answer he gave? There was no substance in it about God. It was all about rulers & men, not a word about God. Proving those people he talked about being wrong by opposing them, does NOT prove there is no God. It was NOT about God. It was all about theocracy & men.

@kaizen000000000 The overlay of racism , bigotry and nihilism that religious extremists from ALL faiths choose to make their agenda is not MY interpretation of the books of faith ( The Bible, the Quran , the teachings of Buddha) that I have read.

@kaizen000000000 He was. However, his argument appears to be with post-18th century evangelicalism rather than mainstream Christian beliefs.

@kaizen000000000 I would say the only exception is Catholicism. Maybe there are a few crazies who believe in end times but the church rejects that as spiritually symbolic. They have never believed in the rapture that Protestant denominations do, nor the Jewish prophecy involved.

@kaizen000000000 He found Christ as he was dying.

@kaizen000000000 A speck of dust.

@kaizen000000000 Hitch

@kaizen000000000 lol, maaaan… I miss Hitch
