Hard to know. He was still incredibly innovative and had really good coaches around him. I think he'd have been successful but 14 straight top 5 finishes may not have happened in this era.

2 times I got to meet him lived up to what I’d always seen. 1st time I was a young and went with my father and boy did he live up to what a true. Christian. hero should be. 2nd time my son who was about 5-7 years old got to almost meet him. I modeled my coaching after him.

Coach Bowden was much much more than a great football coach. No one had the genuine care for the community and betterment of young men.
