Can you believe this? An elected official using his almost 500K follower X platform to help a friend from college who’s fallen on hard times find employment and get back on his feet. We need to multiply this sort of no ego, no frills, plain-speaking, truth-telling, transparency-creating, direct-to-the-people honest and good human being Congressional representative in Washington. Gives me a glimmer of hope for our nation. I don’t know how he’s still in office considering the bloodsport colosseum Congress has become these days, but I’ll sleep a bit easier tonight knowing he’s there. And he’s a skater?!? Congressman please follow up when your buddy gets his gig. We’re all pullin for him. God bless you.

I can’t help him find work. But I’ve been in his position. If he wants help with his recovery, I can help him and know dozens of men who would be willing to to help with that, also. Some of them may even be able to help him with work.

@tomemmer you should do this for you constituents. There are a lot of people in MN that cannot find jobs and don’t qualify for welfare (fraud).

I pray that this works out well. I’ve been down this road. 17 years sober.

I believe its admirable to want to help a friend out. He is being 100% upfront about everything. I WOULD WANT TO SEE MORE OF THIS FROM OUR REPRESENTATIVES . BUT YOU HAVE TO HELP EVERYONE NOT JUST YOUR FRIENDS.

I didn’t lose my job when I did the rehab thing, Tim. I was lucky that I did “the right about face”. I had lots of help though. Thanks for doing this for your Friend🫡🧡

@atensnut This is amazing 🙌🏻 It’s extremely difficult to continue forward after rehab. Bless you @timburchett 🙏❣️ This man will need continued treatment, understanding, & positivity, to help him help himself! He needs a “Hands up”, not hand outs.
