If you've played Mega Man 3, you've seen the glitch on the boss select screen above Shadow Man. It's not your copy or your NES, I recorded this footage from the Legacy Collection on PC. After 2's success, 3 was rushed through development, and since this bug is visual, it remains. The reasoning behind it is front and center. The way the boss screen slides together in three segments is precise, but the code gets ahead of itself and starts building on the top of Shadow Man's portrait. I've always been fascinated by this little scanline, but it was from Displaced Gamers where I learned all about the code behind it. A classic game, a masterpiece even. Just with a scar. #MegaMan
