One of the more interesting aspects of the film is how he keeps trying to deny what is happening until he can't any more. He knows something is wrong immediately, but keeps coming up with ways to try to convince himself this is normal and healthy.

He didn't know that his wish had actually worked yet. He had suspicions but he wrote it off as being in his head. They just slept in his bed. He was so worried about the idea of taking advantage that he slept on the floor. It wasn't until her nightmare that he got in the bed

People saying he didn't know the wish worked, but even still he had clearly recognized that she was acting "off" even if he didn't understand yet what was happening. At this point there's still a bit of room for him to think maybe he did something he shouldn't have.

Holy fuck. You are reading a clearly scene where Nikki is desperately trying to reassure Bear that he didn’t take advantage of her bc she doesn’t want him to pull away believing that he did as if it were some hidden code showing that he actually did. And that makes no sense.

At this point he has absolutely no idea the wish fr fr worked and is entirely going off Nikki using drugs superficial coke if I’m remembering right and also consuming alcohol prior to that night though like 😭

I don't think so. At this moment, he still didn't believe in the One Wish Willow being real. His defensive reaction was most likely because of his peers directly accusing Bear of taking advantage of her before this.

No he doesn’t this is literally the 2nd day. He’s freaked becuase how she came on to him the night before and then switched back which was out of character and he doesn’t know exactly what’s going on. They didnt even have sex the first night.

Loud and wrong at this point he didn’t know the wish affected her because later both Ian and her said she took molly and he looked the symptoms up he also looked up if the one wish willow was real and a comment said you have to be stupid to believe that and also her dad dying.

Its suttle but watxh hwr face change when she says by itself "you're taking advantage of me". Early early indication to the audience that things are definitely fucked up, and maybe a bit of real Nikki coming out. This movie has been fucking w me since watching it.

Anyone would react this way. He didn't take advantage of her that night. He was very apprehensive about her even being there and slept on the floor.

Indy saying it was the real Nikki during the sex scene almost made me wish she never said it, because in that moment we finally see Bear for who he really is, and he never once looked at her.

This is why I’m surprised people start to view him as bad once he walks away from Nikki begging to kill her. He was bad the second he made that wish and still slept with her, knowing (at least to some degree) that she was acting like that cause of the wish
