What surprised me even more was that Paul Adom-Otchere, an experienced journalist who studied in the UK, didn’t advise him against displaying what he claimed was gold on live television. You simply wouldn’t see that here in the UK. I remember a friend who went to the foreign currency exchange counter at John Lewis, a well-known British department store that also offers bureau de change services to exchange money. He was asked to provide bank statements to show how the funds had come into his account before the transaction could proceed. This just can't happen here! That’s why I found the whole episode astonishing.
