He’s cornering himself. That’s a sure fire way to lose. He’s also dumping his drive gauge. You should calmly walk him to the corner, preserve your drive gauge instead of doing these OD Supermans, be ready to AA, and take advantage of the fact that he’s easy to burnout.

I asked a top player about how to deal with this and they just unironically said they just wouldn't approach. Eventually these type of players will get desperate and make a bad approach attempt and thats when you capitalize.

This wasn’t supposed to blow up. It’s a vent about how easily I lose to my own frustration, not a claim that this was somehow me playing well or there’s no way to counter spammy chaos. But I hope anyone else who struggles with tilt feels a little bit seen.

If you’re responding with some variation of “you fucking suck,” “this is your fault,” etc., I encourage you to reflect on why your first instinct—upon seeing someone frustrated and upset with themselves—is to either laugh or pile on. That’s a poor reflection on you, not me.

When somebody posts, “Wow, I played so bad because I got frustrated,” probably the least supportive things you can say are, “Yeah, you’re awful,” or, “It’s simple, just don’t get upset.” We all play badly when angry after midnight. Be kind to one another.

Adding—I know “you’re the worst, your playstyle is brainless, I hate people” wasn’t my kindest moment, but it was off stream, in response to being mocked and one and doned at 1:30 AM. Responding to my “I played bad, I’m frustrated” post with “CAUSE YOU SUCK” is still trash. IDC.

I see nothing wrong with the way he played. He came with a strategy that obviously worked for him. There's no real way to play Fighting Games, the only thing important here is depleting your opponents health bar. How you do that is up to you.

In order to win, he created a system that works vs some people. And when he realizes they are adapting, he quits. It's sad, but that's how he approaches the game by his own, he's probably not doing to tilt people, it's just the way he learned by himself and kinda works sometimes

I view playing against players like this as labbing patience. I imagine their goal is to tilt me. If you learn nothing else, you learn how to control your emotions. In all seriousness, it's not easy to find such a concentrated way to practice this necessary skill.

This is part of what frustrates me the most. I can’t lab tilt. I just have to learn how to play through it.

The thing to keep in mind is none of the stuff they are doing works unless you get anxious. So just corner them and wait for the panic jumps and blow them up for it. I doubt they're gonna block on wakeup so its probably over after one knowdown.

I don’t give ranked any merit nowadays. I can get destroyed by gorillas online, lose 100 MR, and then later the same day get top 3 at our locals (and you know our area has actual real top players). I’d rather train for offline than play like an idiot for virtual points.

Idk this kind of playstyle drives me up a wall. I do not have the mental for this, I will crumble and get frustrated. I usually just try to risk shit until I get a life lead, then wait and let them come to me. I have no advice on how to not get mad. I’ll win and still be mad.

Honestly the worst part is the one and done imo, people will have these gimmicky ass play styles that would almost always crumble in the second match and then they just one and done This is precisely why i don't play SF6 late night, this shit will always be painfully unfun

Akuma flip is too hard to anti air without crazy mental stack so I just do jump forward lp bc it takes no mental stack and gives rlly good oki bc of the hard knockdown

Nice. that’s another motivation to start using it more. I’ve been really locked into finally refocusing how I change my anti-air habits. Not just labbing the reaction, but thinking, “how close are we standing” and “how likely is it they jump here.” It’s starting to actually help.

Yea in this clip I would just walk and block fireballs untill they eventually demon flip and then u just oki loop them to death

Having a bare-bones, covers-all-jumps AA, even if it’s a weak one, I think will help next time. I was panicking about how to be ready to use the right AA depending on range.

Akuma demon flip is a special case tho. U should never be using jump forward lp bc youll be negative on landing. Lp is used for crossups mainly and only on jumpback. U wanna use the mp target combo normally but demon flip is an exception

My favorite part about playing these people is when I walk forward and corner them and wait for a jump in and the misinput my anti air and just eat it and lose anyway. Did I say favorite? I meant I almost uninstall the game.

If you're tilting bc your opponent is using bad starts it's all on you. That's part of this strat, as soon as you tilt you're on HIS territory and he has an advantage bc he's used to playing like this while you are not, don't be stupid if you can't play stupid

I don't mean this to be negative, but if people can't beat players like this, what makes them think they can beat better, more solid players. At the end of the day you have to make quick adaptations against both. This type of player the adaptations are more obvious though.

The thing is that I already have beaten many better, more solid players. But I stop being able to play well when I get this annoyed, frustrated, or angry. I need to work on the mental side or I just lose access to the skills I’ve been developing, self-inflicted.

Getting tilted cuz your opponent is playing like a psycho is more a you thing than anything. Walk em to the corner, chill at optimal aa range, and simply punish their mistakes. Learning how to deal with that is still learning.

It's true....I know the tactics like "jump for anti-air" and "use special move parry against projectiles," but running into players who use this kind of playstyle is truly frustrating.

Late but yeah, just take space and wait for them to do something desperate, but in the moment it can be hard depending on your headspace. People like this don’t usually have a second strategy lined up if you beat the first one, at least.
