I would also put Robert De Niro as Max Cady as an example of perfect casting in a movie. Robert Mitchum also crushed this role and Javier Bardem was just “fine” but De Niro was iconic, leading to a Best Actor Oscar nomination. De Niro’s method is on full display here - just look at his body & listen to his accent. #ScorseseSundays

Sierra Leonean food is the best in the world! No to me say, na National Geographic! National GeographicTravel says in all of West Africa, only one restaurant made it on their list of 21 best restaurants in the world for 2024. That restaurant is in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and it is Cole Street Guest House. I had the pleasure of dining at Cole Street twice in the past month, once for dinner and another for brunch. I personally enjoyed Robert De Niro in last year’s mob movie The Alto Knights. De Niro plays both leads- even in his 80s, which I find unbelievable. I’ve mentioned before that The Irishman effectively ended the gangster genre. This is one of the few post-Irishman mob movies left

Ronin has 2 of the best car chase sequences I’ve ever seen. Robert De Niro has no business being this damn good in this movie- it’s just such a classic De Niro performance. The chase scene here reminds me of The French Connection. This film is tremendous for multiple reasons.
