Robert De Niro went 21 years in between his #Oscar nomination for Cape Fear & Silver Linings Playbook. I definitely think De Niro should’ve been nominated for something within that stretch, but he’s so, so good in this movie. It’s one of Bobby’s most vulnerable performances.

Philip Seymour Hoffman probably should’ve won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The Master. I only use the word “probably” because the field in 2013 was loaded- filled with actors like Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones & Christoph Waltz. This is Hoffman & PTA at their best.

Sierra Leonean food is the best in the world! No to me say, na National Geographic! National GeographicTravel says in all of West Africa, only one restaurant made it on their list of 21 best restaurants in the world for 2024. That restaurant is in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and it is Cole Street Guest House. I had the pleasure of dining at Cole Street twice in the past month, once for dinner and another for brunch. Featuring Jeff Bridges & Robin Williams, I’m not even sure what genre you’d classify this film in because it’s a combination of fantasy, comedy & drama. I personally enjoyed Robert De Niro in last year’s mob movie The Alto Knights. De Niro plays both leads- even in his 80s, which I find unbelievable. I’ve mentioned before that The Irishman effectively ended the gangster genre. This is one of the few post-Irishman mob movies left

Ronin has 2 of the best car chase sequences I’ve ever seen. Robert De Niro has no business being this damn good in this movie- it’s just such a classic De Niro performance. The chase scene here reminds me of The French Connection. This film is tremendous for multiple reasons.
